The great selection of musical theater performances at the Aalto Theater and the Philharmonic Music Hall range from operas, operettas, musicals and concerts to ballet and other dance performances. But the performances are not the only spectacle worth a visit. The Aalto Theater, designed by the well-known Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in cooperation with Harald Deilmann and the Philharmonic Music Hall, designed by Skjøld Neckelmann and Carl Nordmann are also architectural landmarks of international significance. Both designs are products of architect competitions, sadly, Alvar Aalto never lived to see his vision for the building realized, since he died seven years before the building process started in 1983.
